Barcelona football club history

Barcelona is a club steeped in tradition and history. The football team has become part of the fabric of Catalan society and is a big part of Catalan identity. Barcelona FC is a sporting mouthpiece for a number of political tensions, although more constructively, it also unites the Catalan public under a sporting banner, and the football pitch is where they air their grievances. They survived through the Franco era and became a political mouthpiece for a subtle form of dissent.
‘Mes Que Un Club’ the sign reads on one of the imposing stands, meaning ‘more than a club’. This is an apt description of what Barca is to the local population and FC Barcelona tickets allow you a glimpse of genuine Catalan life and culture.
Barcelona FC are owned and run by their supporters, who vote on presidential elections and have a big say in the direction of the club. Established in 1899, Barcelona have had a long and successful history. They have lifted the most domestic trophies of any Spanish club, with an impressive 21 La Liga and 25 Copa del Rey. They are one of the few clubs who have been ever present in European competition since 1955.
Barcelona FC’s recent successes have been some of their most remarkable. Josep Guardiola has quickly attained legendary status at the Nou Camp. His modern side play an attacking brand of passing football that has seen them dominate both domestic and European competition. In 2009 Barcelona won an unprecedented six trophies. People talk of trebles as being incredible, but to win a sextuple of silverware is a phenomenal achievement.
Paulino Alcantra is Barcelona’s all time highest goal scorer with 357 goals, but he may soon be caught by Messi, whose tally is constantly rising towards the 200 mark with a near whole career ahead of him. FC Barcelona tickets would entitle you to see this living legend in his prime.
FC Barcelona tickets are not only a chance to see the best club side in the world; they represent a glimpse at social history and real Catalan life.

Sunderland in Europe

Steve Bruce’s men have been able to show strong resilience to be positioned in seventh place in the Premier League after 16 games, and Cattermole has fully supported the team in order for their success to continue on.
Cattermole said in an interview, “You can see the club is going places and we all need to keep pulling together and working hard. No one has said it yet, but I think we all believe we can go somewhere.”
Sunderland could consolidate their position in the league with a strong showing on their final games for 2010, and Cattermole strongly believes that all of the upcoming fixtures against Fulham, Bolton, Manchester United and Blackpool are definitely winnable.
The midfielder said, “We are going into a good run of games and we have to make the most of them. The gaffer (Steve Bruce) pulled us to one side in training last week and said we need to try to get 10 or 12 points this month to get us into the top six.”
He further said that they have made a good start and that has helped them a lot to get their league position. He said, “Last week, we were seventh, but there were a lot of teams on the same points.”
From the looks of it, Cattermole has already put his injury problems during last season and the disciplinary issues that he faced early in the campaign in the past. In another interview, he declared, “I feel like I’m starting to hit a bit of form on the quiet,” he said. “This is the longest run of games I’ve had since I came to Sunderland. I haven’t missed a day’s training through injury and I feel like I’m finding form. I’m up and down the pitch and I haven’t been sent off for a while.”
